the importance of resources - black lives matter
At the peak of this unprecedented time of radical education, realisation and change, I wanted to collate some resources from black authors and writers that I specifically admire or find fascinating. I have not read all of these pieces, and began creating this list for my own developement and understanding - but then realised that others may also be interested, having felt motivated to explore the work of black authors but perhaps being without the capital to purchase suggested novels. Concerning the ethics of disseminating free works (not uploaded by myself but discovered and hosted by others on the internet) - authors cited within this list are no longer living, cannot profit directly, and therefore I believe that it is just that we should gain some small, limited access to their writing - it is societally, historically and morally important that these pieces should not be forgotten or hidden behind a paywall - education should not be unattainable.
